Collingwood’s streak of narrow victories continued at the MCG on Sunday with ice-cool Elliott slotting the game-winner on the final siren from the boundary line in front of the Olympic Stand. After marking cleverly between Essendon’s Jake Kelly and Kyle Langford, the star small forward booted his second final-quarter goal to make it 9 wins in a row for the Magpies – 5 of them by a kick – and fourth spot on the ladder.
