The GIANTS condemned Essendon to one of its darkest days in history with a record-breaking 126-point thrashing on Saturday evening in which the GIANTS kicked their highest ever score (162 points) and recorded their greatest ever winning margin. Power forward Hogan's career-best 9 goals came from 24 disposals (16 kicks and 8 handballs) and a career-high 17 marks (6 of them contested). He booted 1 major in the first quarter, 2 in the second term, 3 in the third and another 3 in the last.
