The Brisbane Lions captain led from the front in the premiership victory, playing in defence in the first half and swung into the middle at the main break. Koenen’s courage in the backline was second to none, with nine intercepts, and she then kept Jasmine Garner occupied in the second half. Koenen capped off her best-on-ground game with the final goal.
