In the closest result of Gather Round, the GIANTS pipped Hawthorn by 2 points at a packed Norwood Oval after Himmelberg took a towering mark over Hawk captain James Sicily with 2 minutes remaining before kicking truly from 25m to give his side the lead. In the final 40 seconds he then turned defender by getting a touch on Jarman Impey's shot at goal on the run from 50m just inside the goal line to preserve the GIANTS slender lead.
