Summary

DP1 Sam Lalor Richmond In an evenly bunched top end, Richmond used the first selection at the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft (the Tigers first in 20 years) on the powerful and aggressive midfielder, who breaks games open with his ability to exit congestion unhindered and regularly kick goals when forward. Injuries at the beginning and end of Lalor's final junior season hampered him but has an eye-catching skill set.

Ashcroft joins the reigning premiers practically AFL-ready after a spectacular junior career at club and representative level.
