The 2002 Select AFL SPX Series contained the same insert sets as the 2002 Exclusive Series released earlier in the year.
However the main differences were the SPX Series is produced on thicker 450gsm board, features gold foiling and the card backgrounds are of a gold colour.
SPX Series includes All Australian Team (22 cards / 1:6 Packs), Medal (5 / 1:24 packs), Predictor cards (16 / 1:24 packs), Draft Pick Signatures (16 / 1:24 packs), Box cards (5 / 1 per box) and Tribute and Legends cards (6 / 1:24 packs).
The Tribute cards were the same players as in the Exclusive Series however Peter Hudson was added as a Legend card to the series and features alongside Kevin Bartlett.
Peter Hudson signed 100 Legend signature cards as did the players featured in the Tribute Series - Royce Hart, Darrel Baldock, Garry Hocking and Stephen Silvagni. (5 cards / 1:144 packs).
Each case featured one of 3 cases cards - Stephen Silvagni, NAthan Burke and Stewart Loewe. These were the same players as the cases cards in 2002 Exclusive however the cards were more limited (to 125 of each) and featured gold foiling.
The 2002 SPX release was limited to 833 cases / 3,000 boxes and is SOLD OUT.
